Meet Teidah – A Quiet Survivor Still Hoping for Kindness ❤️🐾
Teidah is a dog who has known loneliness, uncertainty, and loss – yet she still carries a quiet hope in her heart.
Her journey began in a small rural shelter where she lived with her siblings. In the spring of 2021, everything changed. The shelter’s owner suddenly passed away, leaving the dogs completely alone. No caretaker. No food. No familiar voice. Just an empty yard beside an abandoned house.
For months, Teidah and the other dogs survived on their own. They were frightened, hungry, and confused. The world they once knew had disappeared overnight. The cold reality of abandonment left a deep emotional mark on her. Though she survived physically, the loneliness shaped her forever.
When Teidah came to the “Big Heart” shelter near Kyiv, she was safe at last – but deeply withdrawn. She does not understand human affection. She has never truly experienced consistent kindness. When someone reaches out to pet her, she freezes. Her body tenses. Her instinct tells her to run.
Yet despite everything she endured, Teidah is not aggressive. She is calm, balanced, and gentle. She gets along well with other dogs and avoids conflict. She is a peaceful presence in the kennel – a quiet soul who simply needs time and understanding.
Then came another challenge – the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Once again, Teidah’s world was shaken. She was evacuated from the Kyiv region to our kennel near the Polish border, and later moved to paid temporary housing to ensure her safety. Every step was taken to protect her from danger and give her stability.
Teidah is not an easy case. She is a rescue dog who requires extraordinary patience, compassion, and acceptance. We do not know if we will find a forever home ready to offer her the time she needs to rebuild trust. But until that day comes, we are determined to provide her with a secure and peaceful life.
