Teidah Survived Fear and Loneliness – She Needs a Sponsor

A Story of Survival and Hope

Teidah is a dog who has known loss, fear, and loneliness. In 2021, she arrived at the Big Heart shelter near Kyiv. Before that, she lived in a small rural shelter with her siblings. But her peaceful world shattered when the shelter’s owner unexpectedly passed away, leaving the dogs completely alone.

For months, Teidah and the other dogs struggled to survive in an empty yard beside an abandoned house, with no food, no humans, and no help. The once-familiar world had turned into a cold and unforgiving place. Teidah survived, but the loneliness left a deep mark on her heart.

Afraid, But Not Aggressive – A Gentle Soul in Need of Love

Because of her past, Teidah has lost trust in people. She has never known what it means to be loved or cared for. Yet, despite her fear, she is never aggressive. She is calm, balanced, and peaceful, gets along well with other animals, and never seeks conflict.

However, her fear of humans runs deep. When someone tries to pet her, she tenses up and wants to run away.

War Brought Another Challenge

When the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Teidah had to be evacuated once again—first from Kyiv to a safer kennel near the Polish border, and later to temporary paid housing. We did everything possible to keep her safe.

But her real struggle continues: she is still searching for security, warmth, and a place to belong.
