Six Abandoned Puppies. One Chance to Survive. They Need Us Now.

No puppy should begin life abandoned in the middle of a field. Yet that’s exactly what happened to these six innocent babies. 💔🐶

A few weeks ago, kind people walking through a field near our home in Kyiv made a heartbreaking discovery. Four tiny puppies had been abandoned without their mother, food, water, or any chance of surviving on their own. They were huddled together on nothing more than an old T-shirt, frightened, hungry, and waiting for someone to notice them.

Thankfully, someone did.

One of the puppies quickly found a loving home, but the remaining three little girls had nowhere to go. We couldn’t leave them behind. Our team immediately arranged a foster home where they could finally be warm, safe, and cared for while we covered the costs of their food and daily care.

Just when we thought the rescue was over, the story took another heartbreaking turn.

Only a few days later, the same people returned to that field and discovered two more abandoned puppies. One of them was in terrible condition—cold, severely dehydrated, painfully thin, and barely able to move. We rushed him straight to the veterinary clinic. Based on his condition, we believe both puppies had been struggling alone for several days without food or water.

How anyone could abandon such tiny, defenseless lives is impossible to understand.

But their fight wasn’t over yet.

Soon after arriving in foster care, one of the puppies suddenly became critically ill. She grew weak, stopped playing, and developed severe bloody diarrhea. Our volunteers rushed her to the veterinarian, fearing the worst. At first, doctors suspected enteritis, but thankfully that test came back negative.

Unfortunately, the real diagnosis was just as devastating.

She tested positive for canine distemper—a highly contagious and life-threatening disease that requires intensive medical care, constant monitoring, and expensive treatment. 😢

Right now, she is hospitalized and fighting for her life. Every single day of treatment gives her another chance, but it also brings new veterinary bills.

So far, we have already spent more than 30,000 UAH (around $700) on these six rescued puppies. That includes emergency veterinary care, medications, diagnostic tests, foster care, food, and everything they need to stay alive. And as treatment continues, those costs keep growing.

Despite the heartbreak, we refuse to give up on them.

These puppies have already experienced abandonment, fear, hunger, and illness before they were even old enough to understand the world. They deserve to know that people can be kind, that they are worth saving, and that their story doesn’t have to end in tragedy.
