Our Hearts Are Broken: We Said Goodbye to Zefrika ππ
Today, we have to share news that has broken all of our hearts.
Our sweet little rabbit Zefrika has crossed the rainbow bridge. ππ
After suddenly becoming seriously ill, Zefrika fought with incredible strength. Our veterinary team did everything they possibly could to save her. She received emergency treatment, stayed under constant medical supervision, and was surrounded by people who refused to give up on her.
We held on to hope until the very end.
Sadly, despite every effort, Zefrika’s tiny body could no longer fight the illness. She passed away, leaving an emptiness that words cannot describe.
Just days ago, we were mourning the loss of her companion, Kasya. We desperately hoped that Zefrika’s story would end differently. We wanted so badly to share good news with youβto tell you that she was getting stronger and coming home.
Instead, today we are saying goodbye.
Moments like these are among the hardest parts of rescue work. We celebrate every life we save, but we also carry the heartbreak of the ones we lose. Every animal who comes into our care becomes part of our family, no matter how small or how short their time with us may be.
Although we couldn’t change the outcome, we find comfort in knowing that Zefrika’s final days were filled with love, warmth, and compassion. She was no longer alone. She was cared for, protected, and surrounded by people who fought for her until her very last breath.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who stood beside us during this difficult time.
Thank you to everyone who donated toward her treatment, shared our posts, sent kind messages, and kept both Kasya and Zefrika in your thoughts and prayers. Your support reminded us that we were not carrying this burden alone.
While our hearts are heavy today, your kindness gives us the strength to keep goingβfor every other animal still waiting for a second chance.
Run free, sweet Zefrika. You were loved more than you’ll ever know. πβ€οΈπΎ
