Meet Laska — A Loving War Survivor Waiting for the Family She Deserves
After surviving hunger, abandonment, and the horrors of war, Laska still believes in people. Now she is waiting for someone who will love her, protect her, and never abandon her again.
Meet Laska, a beautiful and incredibly affectionate mixed-breed girl who is looking for a loving forever home.
Laska is approximately 6–8 years old, weighs around 22 kg (48 lbs), and is a medium-sized dog with an enormous heart.
Her story began in one of the darkest places imaginable.
During the war and the occupation of the territory, Laska and other dogs were left behind at an abandoned shelter. With no one there to care for them, they were left without enough food and proper care.
They had no idea when they would eat again.
They had no idea whether anyone would come back for them.
And yet, despite everything they experienced, Laska and the other dogs never lost their ability to trust and love.
Eventually, our team was able to evacuate them to safety.
But surviving the war was only the beginning of Laska’s journey.
She is still waiting for the most important thing of all — her own person.
Someone who will look at this beautiful girl and decide that she belongs in their family.
Someone who will give her a warm bed, regular meals, gentle hands, and all the affection she has been missing.
Because Laska absolutely loves people.
She is incredibly affectionate and enjoys being close to her humans. She loves cuddles, kisses, attention, and simply being part of whatever her people are doing.
Give her some attention and she will happily stay by your side.
Give her a treat and you’ll probably receive one of her famous warm smiles in return. 😊
Laska is very sociable and genuinely enjoys human company. She is a people-oriented dog who wants to feel connected to her family.
She can be a little jealous when it comes to attention, especially around other dogs. She would prefer to make sure she gets her share of cuddles first!
But this is simply part of her personality — she loves her people deeply and wants to be close to them.
Laska generally gets along well with other dogs, although she may become jealous if another dog receives attention before her. She is also neutral with cats, making her potentially suitable for a home where a cat already lives.
She has limited experience with children and generally interacts well with them. However, because Laska gets extremely excited when seeking attention and may jump up, she could accidentally knock over a small child.
She walks well on a leash and enjoys being with her humans.
Laska does have one important consideration for her future family: she may become anxious if left alone for long periods and can sometimes cry or bark when she feels lonely.
For this reason, she may be especially happy in a home where someone spends plenty of time with her.
She could also potentially be a wonderful second or third dog, or live happily alongside a cat.
And despite everything she has been through, Laska still has so much love to give.
She is vaccinated, microchipped, and sterilized, and she is ready to begin the next chapter of her life.
❤️ Laska doesn’t need a perfect home. She needs a loving one.
She has already experienced what it means to be abandoned.
Now she deserves to experience the opposite — what it feels like to finally belong.
A family that will never leave her behind.
A person who will appreciate her affection.
Someone who will smile when she comes looking for cuddles.
Someone who will give her the reassurance that she is finally safe.
Could you be Laska’s person?
If you think this loving girl could be the perfect addition to your family, please consider giving her a chance.
