Yes, that’s really his name. It might sound a bit funny, but it suits him perfectly. Kraken may be small, but he has a strong, stubborn spirit and a fiery personality that makes him truly unique. He’s an older dog, and in his eyes you can see both the life he’s lived and the hardships he’s endured.

We don’t know exactly what Kraken went through before coming to us, but it’s clear his past was not easy. Life on the streets is especially harsh for a small dog — always fighting for safety, food, and survival. He may have been attacked by other dogs or mistreated by people. Over time, that fear turned into defensive aggression. Kraken is cautious around strangers and struggles with other dogs, not because he’s bad — but because he learned to protect himself.

His life changed dramatically after he was hit by a car. He was in critical condition when our team found him, but we didn’t give up. With care and treatment, he survived. Today, he is safe — still distant and осторожний, but deep down, we know he wants to trust and be understood.

Now, Kraken lives in our shelter in his own маленький house — a cozy space gifted by one of our volunteers. It’s his safe place, where he can rest, feel protected, and quietly observe the world around him.

Because of his fears and behavior, it’s unlikely that Kraken will find a forever home. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a good life. We are committed to giving him comfort, care, and dignity for as long as he’s with us.

This is why Kraken needs a sponsor — someone who can help provide his food, medical care, and a safe environment. Even if he’s not the kind of dog who will jump into your arms, he still needs someone in his corner.
