Emergency Update: Rambo Is Fighting to Breathe

💔 Update on Rambo — He Needs Our Help 🐾

The past few hours have been incredibly frightening for Rambo.

Everything changed when he suddenly began struggling to breathe and started using his stomach muscles to take each breath. Knowing that something was seriously wrong, our teammate Katya immediately took both Rambo and his roommate, Ziggy, to the veterinarian. At first, we feared that both dogs might have developed pneumonia.

Thankfully, the news for Ziggy was much better. He appears to be doing okay, although the veterinarian suspects he may have bronchitis and will continue to monitor his condition closely.

But Rambo’s situation turned out to be far more serious than we had hoped. 😢

After examinations and tests, the veterinarians discovered that Rambo has fluid in his lungs, partial pulmonary edema, and spontaneous contrast in the atria. These findings indicate that his body is under severe stress, and right now his biggest battle is simply being able to breathe.

To help stabilize him, Rambo has been placed in an oxygen box, where he will remain under close medical supervision until at least tomorrow. The veterinary team is doing everything they can to improve his condition and give him the best possible chance of recovery.

At this moment, there is also concern that Rambo may have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a serious heart condition. However, the doctors cannot confirm this diagnosis yet. They need to stabilize him first before they can perform additional examinations and determine the underlying cause of his symptoms.

Today alone, we spent 8,000 UAH ($180) on the emergency veterinary visit for Rambo and Ziggy. Unfortunately, the expenses do not end there. We still need to cover the costs of medications, oxygen therapy, additional diagnostics, and the ongoing care that Rambo desperately needs.

As always, every rescued animal depends on the kindness of people who care. Right now, Rambo needs all of us.
