Another Night of Terror in Kyiv: Dozens Killed and Injured in Massive Russian Attack
Kyiv has once again endured a devastating night as Russia launched a massive combined attack using missiles and drones against the Ukrainian capital and surrounding areas. The assault caused widespread destruction across the city, leaving people dead, dozens injured, and countless others facing another night of fear and uncertainty.
At least 12 people were initially reported killed in Kyiv, while 33 others were injured. The death toll later rose as emergency crews continued working at the sites of the strikes. Residential buildings were among the locations damaged, with fires breaking out and sections of apartment blocks destroyed.
The destruction was not limited to homes. A children’s hospital was damaged, windows were shattered, and vehicles were set on fire. A school was also hit, while warehouses and other civilian and non-residential buildings were damaged in several districts of the capital. Authorities reported consequences at more than a dozen locations across Kyiv.
For the people living in these neighborhoods, the night brought terrifying explosions, fires, broken windows, collapsing structures, and the constant sound of air-raid alarms. Families once again had to hide from incoming missiles and drones, unsure whether their homes would still be standing when the danger passed.
Emergency workers rushed into the damaged areas while the attacks were still unfolding, searching for survivors, putting out fires, and helping those trapped or injured. Their work continued long after the first explosions, as authorities assessed the damage and searched through the rubble.
This was yet another reminder that for civilians in Ukraine, the war is not something distant or confined to a battlefield. It reaches homes, hospitals, schools, workplaces, and ordinary families simply trying to survive another night.
Kyiv has endured years of attacks, but each new bombardment brings fresh grief and destruction. Behind every number in the casualty reports is a person with a family, a home, and a life that has been forever changed.
Another night has passed, but for many families, the pain will remain long after the sirens stop.
