Goodbye, Sweet Marley — Forever Loved and Remembered

We are heartbroken to share that our sweet Marley has passed away. 💔🐾

When the full-scale invasion began in 2022, Marley and another black cat were left behind in an apartment in Kyiv. Their family was in the United States and had no way to return for them. Trapped inside and completely alone, the cats waited for help.

Someone managed to get them out in time.
That is how they came into our care.

Both cats were already 13 years old. Because of their age, we were never able to find them a home. So instead, the shelter became their home for the last four years. It wasn’t the future we had hoped for them, but it was a place of safety, warmth, and care.

Marley quickly stole hearts.
She was Katya’s favorite – playful, vocal, and full of personality. She always had something to say and never failed to make her presence known. Even as a senior cat, she kept her spark.

A few days ago, Marley suddenly became ill. At the veterinary clinic, doctors discovered a tumor in her breast. We chose to try surgery, holding on to hope and doing everything we could to save her.

Sadly, it wasn’t enough.

Marley passed away surrounded by people who loved her deeply. While our hearts are broken, we are grateful that she did not leave this world alone or forgotten.

She knew warmth.
She knew care.
And she knew love.
