From a Starving Survivor to a Happy Sea Dog: Lys Finds His Forever Home

Lys is back with another little update from his wonderful new life in the Netherlands — and it looks like he is making the absolute most of every moment! ⛵️💙

From exploring his new surroundings to enjoying adventures by the water, Lys has clearly embraced his new home. We never could have imagined that this sweet dog, who once arrived at our kennel in such heartbreaking condition, would one day be living a life filled with comfort, happiness, and exciting adventures. And now he has even earned himself a new title: a proper little sea dog! 🐾

Lys’s story began in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, where he was rescued along with two other dogs. When they first arrived at our kennel, all three were desperately thin and severely malnourished. Their bodies were so weak that simply looking at them made it difficult to imagine how they had managed to survive for so long.

They needed much more than food. They needed medical attention, careful monitoring, plenty of rest, and, most importantly, time. Our team worked patiently to help them recover and regain their strength. Day by day, with proper care and lots of love, Lys and the other dogs slowly began to transform.

The road to recovery was not easy, but Lys never gave up.

Today, it is hard to believe that this happy, healthy dog is the same animal who once struggled just to survive. He has gained weight, regained his strength, and discovered something even more precious than good health — a family and a place he can finally call home. 🏡💙

Now Lys gets to spend his days surrounded by love and enjoying the kind of adventures every dog deserves. Watching him happily explore the Netherlands and take to life on the water is a beautiful reminder of just how much a second chance can change a life.

Once a starving survivor from Zhytomyr, Lys is now a happy, healthy, and very loved dog living his best life.

And honestly, we couldn’t be happier for him. ⛵️🐶💙
