From Street Puppy to Little Lioness
💛🐾 Update on Orla — and what a beautiful update it is.
Today, Orla is safe, loved, spoiled, and apparently has transformed into a tiny lioness. 🦁
Looking at her now, full of confidence, happiness, and personality, it’s hard to imagine how difficult her first months of life truly were.
Some of you may remember Orla by her former name, Gina.
She was just a tiny puppy when she was found abandoned on the streets of Zhytomyr during the freezing winter. She wasn’t alone — she had her siblings by her side. Together, they were trying to survive against impossible odds, exposed to the cold, hunger, and dangers that no puppy should ever have to face.
Their future looked uncertain from the very beginning.
Then came another devastating challenge.
The puppies contracted parvovirus, a deadly disease that claims the lives of countless young dogs every year. Veterinarians fought tirelessly to save them, but despite everyone’s efforts, not all of the puppies survived.
Out of eight abandoned puppies, only Gina (now Orla) and three of her sisters made it through.
They were tiny warriors.
They survived the streets.
They survived winter.
They survived illness.
And most importantly, they never stopped believing in people.
Today, Orla’s life could not be more different.
The frightened little puppy who once struggled to survive is now living the life every rescue dog deserves. She has a family who loves her, a home where she feels safe, and the freedom to simply enjoy being a dog.
No more cold nights.
No more fear.
No more fighting for survival.
Instead, there are cozy places to sleep, loving people to cuddle with, toys to play with, and countless adventures ahead.
Every update we receive reminds us why rescue matters so much. Behind every rescued dog is a story that could have ended very differently. Every adoption represents a second chance, a new beginning, and a future that once seemed impossible.
Seeing Orla happy, playful, confident, and completely adored fills our hearts with joy. After everything she endured as a puppy, she finally has what she always deserved — a life filled with love. 🥹💛
Stories like hers remind us that even the smallest, most vulnerable animals can have the brightest futures when someone gives them a chance.
