Vasya’s New Chapter: From Ukraine to Thailand at Age 14
Vasya’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary — at 14 years old, he has begun a brand new life in Thailand! 🇹🇭🐾
This gentle soul spent most of his years with a kind elderly woman in Ukraine, who cared for him deeply, though she often struggled to provide everything he needed. Our teammate Nina regularly stepped in to help, bringing food and support whenever she could.
When Vasya’s beloved human passed away, her family made plans to send him to a remote village, where he would have been kept chained for the rest of his days. But Nina and a compassionate neighbor refused to let that happen. That’s how Vasya found his way to our shelter, where we promised to care for him with the dignity and comfort he deserved in his senior years.
Then came Sally — a remarkable woman from Northern California with a heart for elderly animals. She had adopted from us once before, welcoming a paralyzed pup who had spent his life beneath a shop. When he passed, Sally opened her heart again… this time to Vasya.
Now, Sally has relocated to Thailand to be closer to her son — and she brought her entire furry family with her, including Vasya and his new animal siblings. After a long journey from Northern Europe to Southeast Asia, Vasya is clean, safe, and slowly adjusting to his warm, tropical surroundings.
His new life is full of sunshine, peace, and love — a well-deserved reward for a dog who has seen so much and stayed gentle through it all.
Vasya’s story is a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late for a new beginning. 🐶☀️💛
