Ukraine dog rescue: Brenda’s Journey and a Narrow Escape
Ukraine dog rescue: Brenda’s Journey and a Narrow Escape
Ukraine dog rescue efforts often involve more than saving dogs — they can mean risking everything for a chance at a better life.
Yesterday, our dedicated teammate Maryna, who had been caring for Brenda, personally drove her from Kyiv to Lviv to begin her journey to her forever home in Germany. After an emotional goodbye, Maryna waited for the transport driver, who was delayed by nearly three hours before she could return to Kyiv.
And thank goodness for that delay…
While she was still in Lviv, a massive explosion occurred at a gas station near Zhytomyr. A bus caught fire, nearby buildings were damaged, and several people were injured. The road to Kyiv was completely blocked.
Had Maryna left on time, she may have been caught in the disaster. We’re incredibly grateful that she is safe 🙏
Brenda was not in the car at the time. She’s continuing her journey today, moving steadily toward a new beginning filled with love, care, and peace.
Stories like this remind us that Ukraine dog rescue is filled with both danger and hope. Without the brave people behind each rescue, none of these journeys would be possible. Let Brenda’s story be one more reason to support Ukraine dog rescue and help change lives — both human and canine — for the better. 🐾💕
