Meet Teidah — a quiet soul whose story speaks of survival, heartbreak, and silent hope. 🙏🥺

In spring 2021, Teidah arrived at the “Big Heart” shelter near Kyiv. Before that, she lived in a small rural shelter with her siblings, cared for by its kind owner. But when that person unexpectedly passed away, everything changed.

Left alone in an empty yard beside an abandoned house, Teidah and the other dogs were suddenly on their own — no food, no people, no protection. For months, they clung to life, frightened and confused, unable to understand why their world had vanished overnight. Teidah survived, but the loneliness left deep scars on her heart.

Since then, she has struggled to trust people. Though she’s never shown aggression, her fear of humans runs deep. She’s calm, quiet, and peaceful with other animals, never causing trouble — but when someone tries to touch her, she tenses up, longing to escape.

The full-scale invasion of Ukraine brought more challenges. We evacuated Teidah from the Kyiv shelter to paid temporary housing, doing all we could to keep her safe. She’s a dog who needs extraordinary patience, understanding, and care — perhaps more than most families can offer.

We don’t know if Teidah will ever find that special home, but until then, we are committed to giving her a life of dignity, peace, and safety.
