Yes, his name is really Kraken! It may sound playful, but it perfectly reflects his bold personality. Kraken is a small dog with a big spirit — stubborn, feisty, and full of life. He’s an older boy, and his eyes reveal both the struggles he’s faced and the pain he carries.

We don’t know much about Kraken’s past, but we know it was not an easy life. A small dog surviving alone on the streets must constantly fight for every meal and every bit of safety. Perhaps other dogs bullied him, or maybe people mistreated him. As a result, Kraken is very wary of strangers and other dogs. His fear has hardened into defensiveness — a survival instinct forged by a harsh world.

Everything changed when Kraken was hit by a car. He was gravely injured and close to death, but our team rescued him and provided life-saving care. Though he remains cautious and distant, we know that deep inside, Kraken longs for understanding and kindness.

Today, he lives at our shelter with his very own little house — generously donated by a kind friend. This small safe haven gives him a place to rest, recover, and observe the world around him at his own pace.

Sadly, due to his fear and dog aggression, it’s unlikely that Kraken will ever find a forever home. But we will never give up on him. We are committed to giving him a life filled with love, care, and dignity for as long as he needs us.
