Skye, her scary story makes us shudder even now Sky lived in Mariupol, she probably had a family, she loved and was loved.

She did not know and could not even suspect what war is and how terrible it can be.

But the WAR came. Terrible bombings completely destroyed the city and the house where Sky lived. We don’t know what happened to her family.

When the volunteers first saw her, she looked out of the hole of the ninth floor of the destroyed building. It was impossible to enter the house and go up to Skye. People were looking for any way to help the dog, but under the constant bombardment it was very difficult. The dog was crying, she stayed in that house for maybe months, without food and water. Sky couldn’t stand it and decided to make one last attempt, the only chance to either die or survive. Sky jumped, jumped from the ninth floor

It’s scary even imagine what she feels at that moment, she saw people dawn and just want come to them

Everyone thought she would not survive, and if she did, she would not walk.

Sky was brought to Kyiv, we took her to our house.

At first it was suspected that there were serious injuries and that Skye would not be able to walk, she was also in a terrible state, exhausted and dehydrated, also when she first went for an ultrasound of heart the specialist thought it was a tumor on her heart! He said there was nowhere in Ukraine to do a biopsy on a dogs heart.

But!

Time has passed and look at her, she’s incredible, she’s a kind, gentle, cheerful dog, she used her own scariest and bravest chance ! – she jumped, and higher forces gave her a chance to live.

And after a second examination the doctor saw nothing on the heart!!!

He said it must have been a blood clot that formed from the impact. This was made much more likely because she had been starved and dehydrated in the blown up building for weeks and the doctor said these conditions thicken the blood. So she was more susceptible to a blood clot because of that. So now she only has an injured vertebrae, which we’ve treating. We have to help this beautiful dog. We found a family for her in Europe, now she is going to them. and we will tell you about her new family and how Skye is doing. And we will continue to fight for the lives of animals similar to Skye, who need your help.
