Shumka’s Journey: From Stray in Ukraine to Loved in the USA

Remember Shumka? 🐶❤️ He was once a stray dog in a small Ukrainian town, struggling to survive after losing a leg in a car accident. For years, Shumka lived in an outdoor shelter, with little hope of a better life – until our organization stepped in to help. His path to a forever home began in Kyiv, where he joined our program and stayed in a foster home.

In 2021, Shumka’s life changed forever. He made the incredible journey from Ukraine to the United States, finding his loving family in California! He was the final dog we managed to bring to San Francisco before the CDC’s travel ban – a stroke of incredible fortune. Today, Shumka enjoys a life filled with care and affection, cherished by his family as if he were their own child.

Just recently, Shumka joined his family for a fun day at a pumpkin festival! 🎃 Surrounded by love, joy, and countless adventures, Shumka is living the dream life we always hoped he would find 🧡
