Meet Kasper! A little story about a dog with big heart.
Meet Kasper! A little story about a dog with big heart.
Meet Kasper! He is about 3-4 years old and he is at least half golden retriever In his former life, Casper had a warm home and, as it seemed to him, loving people, whom he treated with unconditional trust and all the loyalty of a dog.
His previous owners, unfortunately, cannot boast of such qualities, people disappoint much more often than animals and the consequences of these disappointments are much more serious.
Casper ended up on the street. We cannot imagine exactly how this happens and what is going on in the minds of people who decide to do such things.
It’s like this: a couple wakes up in the morning from their dog whining pitifully, hinting that he needs to go out into the yard, because you can’t pee in the apartment, the owners will get upset and quarrel, and he can’t stand it anymore, and in every way hints at it. And instead of smiling, understanding how he tries not to harm, jump into sneakers and go out with him for 5 minutes, the husband turns to his wife and says:
“Listen, let’s get rid of him, we will sleep on weekends until 10, and in the stern we save a lot of money.
Well, yes, he lived with us for 5 years, but getting an extra hour of sleep is much more important, and we will buy ice cream with the money saved on dog food.”
“It’s a great idea”, says the wife, “tomorrow I’ll take him out of town, the children, of course, are used to him and will miss him for a while, but let’s tell them he’s lost.” Something like that?
It is hard for us to imagine how confused and lonely Kasper felt, how scared he was when, at one point, he found himself alone in an unfamiliar place, not understanding what was happening
How he ran, trying to catch familiar smells, to come across the trail of his family, looking into the faces of passers-by, hoping to recognize in them such dear people, not realizing that he was betrayed and left to his own devices.
Then there was a shelter… a shelter with more than 3,000 dogs… where there is almost no chance for attention.
And then the war started!!! Occupation… the shelter ended up in enemy-occupied territory, with almost no food or access to water. It is not known how Kasper survived…
But now, after everything he’s been through, he has to find himself in a family that will never leave, never betray, with people who will love and always hug when the thoughts of horrors of the past creep into his head.
Casper was evacuated during the active invasion of Kyiv. He was evacuated to our kennel near the polish border and then we move him to Canada. Now Niagara Dog Rescue takes care of Kasper. He is still waiting for his home, for his family
He gets along well with people and other animals, is a very gentle and kind dog
