Keiko's Journey: A Tale of Rescue, Hope, and Urgent Needs!

Keiko’s story is one of resilience and hope, and your support has been invaluable in making it possible. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to provide Keiko with a crucial vet visit, revealing his special dietary requirements, as depicted in the photo below. 🏥🐶

However, our current financial situation is presenting challenges as our resources deplete rapidly, and Keiko’s specific needs persist. Keiko’s journey began under dire circumstances, but he was fortunate to encounter the compassion and bravery of our beloved Pavlo, manager of our Zhytomyr kennel. Keiko had wandered into a village in search of help and safety, only to face cruelty and danger at the hands of a woman who resorted to violence.

Pavlo, along with his wife, heard of Keiko’s plight and embarked on a heroic mission to rescue him. Their timely intervention prevented a heart-wrenching tragedy. Keiko’s life hung in the balance, as a man with sinister intentions had already arrived, armed with a bag and a metal rod to inflict harm. Fortunately, Pavlo’s courageous actions saved Keiko from a brutal fate. 🦸

Keiko was brought into their care, although their existing shelter was already bursting at the seams with over 70 animals. Yet, Pavlo’s unwavering conviction echoed: “What to do? It’s impossible to leave an innocent dog to die.” 🥺

Recently, our dedicated team, joined by compassionate Danish volunteers, undertook a journey to bring the last 7 of Pavlo’s dogs, including Keiko, from Zhytomyr to our sanctuary in Kyiv. The responsibility of caring for these animals now rests with us, and Keiko’s well-being is at the forefront of our concerns.
