Terra is a majestic Alabai with a wounded soul. Behind her powerful appearance hides a deeply scared heart. She spent most of her life in a kennel with her sister, without proper attention, training, or love. When her previous owners gave up the dogs, Terra’s sister found a new home, but Terra was left completely alone — without family, without trust, without hope.

We welcomed Terra into our shelter, but her adaptation has been extremely challenging. She only trusts one person — Katya, the staff member who rescued her. With Katya, she feels safe, but with everyone else, she struggles. She reacts defensively, even showing aggression when offered food. But this isn’t who Terra truly is — this is how a dog behaves when life has never shown her love. Terra isn’t a monster. She’s a victim of neglect and fear.

Adding to her struggles, Terra has a hearing impairment, which makes the world even more confusing and frightening. She needs a patient, experienced dog trainer — someone who understands the Alabai breed and can help her manage her fears and build trust.

Finding a forever home for Terra may be incredibly difficult, but we refuse to give up on her. Until that day comes, we’re committed to giving her dignity, safety, and peace here in our shelter. With your help, we can provide Terra with food, care, training, and the chance to heal.
