Help Sveta Protect the Animals Living Through War

💔 A message from Sveta in Bila Tserkva — one of the brave women we support in Ukraine.

Life near Kyiv is far from peaceful. This week, Sveta shared what it’s like living under constant threat:

“All the rockets and drones heading toward Kyiv pass right over my village. I don’t just hear them — I see them. I can tell by the sound how close they are, how air defense tries to stop them, and how they explode nearby. Even my little dog Knopa knows before I do — she starts shaking and hides under the bed. That’s how ‘normal’ life feels here now.”

Her daughter’s cat was so terrified after a drone crashed near their home that he developed cystitis from stress. 💔 “It’s not only people who suffer,” Sveta wrote. “Animals feel it even more. Their hearing is sharper, and the explosions are unbearable for them.”

Despite the fear and destruction, Sveta refuses to give up. Every day, she feeds and cares for dozens of abandoned dogs and cats in her community. One of them — little Mishel — desperately needs medical care. Her eyes constantly tear up from a condition she’s had since puppyhood, and Sveta can’t afford the vet visit on her own.
