Emergency Rescue After Shelter Bombing in Zaporizhzhia
Urgent Appeal – Help Us Save Injured Dogs from Zaporizhzhia ππΎ
Dear friends and supporters,
Many of you may have already heard the devastating news. A dog shelter in Zaporizhzhia was recently struck during a bombing. The kennels were completely destroyed. One staff member was seriously injured and hospitalized. Thirteen innocent dogs lost their lives, and many others were left wounded and traumatized.
This is an emergency.
Our rescue team in Kyiv is in direct contact with the shelterβs owners. They urgently need help evacuating the injured dogs to safety. Some are in critical condition. At least one dog lost a leg in the explosion. Others require immediate veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and a secure place to recover.
Our Kyiv shelter is already at full capacity. Every space is occupied. However, we have managed to secure a boarding facility that is ready to accept the rescued dogs. The cost is 100 dollars per dog per month, plus necessary medical care, surgeries, medications, and ongoing treatment. At the same time, we must continue providing food, shelter, and veterinary support for the dogs already under our protection in Kyiv.
We are actively fundraising because every dollar directly impacts how many lives we can save. The more support we receive, the more injured dogs we can relocate from this devastating situation.
Animal rescue during wartime in Ukraine is incredibly challenging, but we refuse to turn away from those who need us most. These dogs have already endured fear, destruction, and loss. They deserve safety, healing, and a chance at a better future.
If you are able, please consider supporting this urgent rescue effort. Your donation helps cover evacuation, boarding, medical treatment, and recovery care.
