An incredible and heartwarming incident unfolded when Barsik arrived in the United States! You won’t believe what happened! Watch the captivating video! As fate would have it, just as our dedicated flight volunteer, John, and Barsik emerged from customs, a group of Ukrainian soldiers with amputated limbs were also arriving. They had come to the US to receive prosthetics for their missing limbs, and an organization had arranged their warm reception. The moment they stepped foot on American soil, they began chanting and singing the Ukrainian anthem, igniting a powerful wave of patriotism and resilience. To everyone’s surprise, when the crowd discovered that Barsik was also an amputee from the Ukrainian war, a profound connection was forged.

People from all walks of life immediately gathered around him, eager to extend their heartfelt greetings and show their support. John, a retired US Air Force airman, was deeply moved by the emotional scene unfolding before him. Tears welled up in his eyes as he witnessed the unity and compassion on display. 😭🙏 In the midst of this remarkable encounter, our teammate Vika, who happened to be present, struck up a conversation with a Ukrainian reporter. The reporter had been assigned to cover the arrival of these courageous soldiers to the US, but upon learning about Barsik, they expressed a keen interest in featuring his story as well. Vika happily obliged, promising to provide an account of Barsik’s journey. 🙂
