Meet Ayumi — a true survivor and one of the most remarkable Ukraine stray dogs we’ve ever met. Her story is heartbreaking, but her gentle soul and loving nature shine through every day. 🐾❤️
Ayumi was once just another dog on street, left alone and forgotten. She was pregnant, scared, and had no one to turn to. After giving birth, the unthinkable happened — the people around her cruelly drowned her puppies and threatened her life too. Ayumi, full of milk and grief, lay hidden in the bushes, crying for days. She was begging for help that never came… until it did.
Our team members Vita and Karina spotted her, and they couldn’t look away. They rescued this beautiful girl, rushed her to the vet, and gave her the medical care and emotional support she so desperately needed. That’s how Ayumi’s transformation began — from broken to whole, from abandoned to loved.
Today, Ayumi is a calm, well-mannered street dog puppy at heart, despite everything. She’s incredibly affectionate with people, gentle with other dogs, and never seeks conflict. However, she has one deep fear — being alone. Crates and closed doors cause her great distress, a painful reminder of her past abandonment.
Her experience speaks to the reality that many street dogs puppies in Ukraine face. That’s why rescue street dogs like Ayumi is so vital — and why street dog adoption can completely transform dog lives.
