Stray Dog Shelter: Making a Difference with Volunteers
We rely on volunteers like Jeff, who generously give their time and energy to help us at our Kyiv peretrymka kennel house. Jeff, originally from New York City, has been a valuable addition to our team at the stray dog shelter, assisting our manager with various tasks. He helps with cleaning the territory, organizing crates, and bringing animals to the veterinarian. Moreover, Jeff also spends quality time with our animals, providing them with much-needed care and attention. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and support. 🙏😊
If you are interested in volunteering and coming to Ukraine, we have opportunities available in Kyiv and Zhytomyr at our stray dog shelter. We are in need of volunteers who can help with animal socialization, learn more about the animals in our care, and assist in finding suitable homes for adoption. Your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of these animals.
Speaking of which, you may have noticed that we often use the term “peretrymka” in our posts at the stray dog shelter, but haven’t explained what it means yet. In Ukraine, a peretrymka is a temporary home for animals, which can be an apartment or a house, just like ours. It serves as a safe haven for homeless or injured animals, where compassionate individuals provide them with care and shelter. Unlike some other countries, Ukraine does not have a Central Animal Control system, so peretrymkas play a vital role in rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need.
At our peretrymka, or stray dog shelter, we strive to provide the best care possible to our furry residents, but we rely on the generosity of volunteers like Jeff to help us meet their needs. We are deeply appreciative of Jeff’s selfless dedication and the contributions of all our volunteers at the stray dog shelter. If you are interested in joining our cause and making a difference in the lives of animals in Ukraine, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we can create a better future for these deserving animals at the stray dog shelter.
