Street dog adoption: Zlatochka’s second chance at love
Street dog adoption: Zlatochka’s second chance at love
Meet Zlatochka — a rescued soul ready for her forever home
Zlatochka’s story is one of quiet endurance and newfound hope. For the first 4–5 years of her life, she was locked in a cage at a remote shelter, completely isolated from the warmth of human love. She didn’t know what it meant to be petted, cared for, or included in someone’s life.
But her life began to change when she was rescued as part of our street dog adoption program. Zlatochka was evacuated from war-affected Kyiv and brought to our shelter near the Polish border, where she finally started to receive love, attention, and proper care.
Now, in this new environment, Zlatochka is slowly beginning to understand what it means to be part of a family. Every gentle word and touch helps rebuild the trust she lost during those difficult years. Her sweet, timid personality is beginning to shine through as she takes her first steps toward healing.
Zlatochka is a quiet, affectionate dog who’s learning to explore the world with courage. Though she’s still shy at times, she’s making progress every day — and with a patient, loving home, she’ll blossom.
She’s one of many rescued dogs who represent the heart of street dog adoption — animals who’ve survived hardship and are now ready to give unconditional love.
