Rescuing Animals from Motyzhin: A Heartbreaking Tale of Survival
Our rescuers went back to Motyzhyn a few days ago, determined to save as many animals from Motyzhin as possible. When they arrived in the village, the neighbors said the white dog we fed there, was dead. Our rescuers rushed to the spot and found the poor animal still breathing. Despite their efforts to save him, he died on the way to the clinic. It’s so upsetting because the last time we were there, he didn’t look sick.
In addition to the white dog, our rescuers picked up four cats, all of whom were infected with the virus. Given the risk of infecting other cats, we couldn’t take them to our kennel. One of the cats no longer has an eye due to the virus and requires immediate surgery. Two other cats have rotten teeth, which need to be removed and their oral cavity disinfected. The fourth cat is a cryptorchid and requires abdominal surgery.
We knew that taking these animals from Motyzhin to a municipal clinic was not an option. Not only do they not take viral animals there, but the quality of care can be poor. So we decided to put them in the hospital where the puppies were being cared for. We’ll continue to take care of all these animals from Motyzhin until they’re ready for adoption.
