Four Years of War - And We Are Still Saving Lives
Four Years of War - And We Are Still Saving Lives
Four Years of War. Eight Years of Rescue. And We Are Still Here. 💙💛🐾
Today marks four years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Four years measured not only in time, but in sirens, explosions, shattered homes, and countless lives forever changed.
When the invasion began, everything shifted overnight. Volunteers found themselves trapped. Animals were stranded in occupied towns and frontline villages. Shelters were cut off. Roads became dangerous. Every rescue mission turned into a calculated risk. Every new day brought uncertainty.
Fear became constant. But so did responsibility.
Long before the war, we had already been saving lives. On March 18th, we will mark eight years as an animal rescue organization. Eight years of pulling dogs from the streets. Eight years of rehabilitation, adoptions, and second chances. Four of those years spent working under the shadow of war.
War does not pause suffering. It multiplies it.
We had to learn a new reality – air raid sirens interrupting feeding times, blackouts during surgeries, destroyed infrastructure slowing evacuations. We navigated dangerous routes to reach animals left behind. We carried dogs through rubble. We evacuated from areas under fire. We adapted because there was no alternative.
Giving up was never an option.
The animals still need food. They still need medical care. They still need safety. And they still need someone to show up for them when the world feels like it is falling apart.
These four years have tested us in ways we could never have imagined. But they have also shown the strength of community. Supporters from around the world have stood beside us. Your donations, your messages, your shares, your belief in what we do – they have kept this mission alive.
We are still here. Still rescuing. Still rebuilding. Still fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.
Eight years of rescue work. Four years of war. Countless lives saved because compassion refused to disappear.
To everyone who stands with us – thank you. Your kindness carries us through the darkest nights and gives hope where it feels impossible. 💙💛
