Russia Launches Massive Drone and Missile Attack on Ukraine

Russia carried out its largest overnight aerial assault on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion, unleashing 805 drones and 13 missiles across multiple regions.

Kyiv suffered one of the heaviest blows during the attack. A residential building was directly hit, killing a mother and her two-month-old baby. At least 18 more people were injured in the capital, while rescue teams worked through the night to pull survivors from the rubble.

The Cabinet of Ministers building in Kyiv was also damaged by falling debris — marking the first confirmed strike on a Ukrainian government headquarters since the beginning of Russia’s invasion in February 2022.

Despite Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepting 751 targets, dozens of strikes still managed to hit infrastructure and residential areas across the country. The attacks sparked fires and caused widespread destruction in at least 37 locations, including Odesa, Dnipro, and Kryvyi Rih.

Authorities are continuing rescue operations and assessing the full scale of the damage, as Ukraine braces for the possibility of further attacks.
