Deadly 10-Hour Drone Strike Hits Kyiv Overnight
In the early hours of the morning, Kyiv was shaken by one of the most intense and prolonged attacks in recent months. Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile assault that lasted nearly 10 hours, keeping residents on edge throughout the night.
The relentless barrage killed two people and injured at least 16 others, causing destruction and fires in five different districts of the capital. The sound of buzzing drones and powerful explosions jolted thousands of people from their sleep, forcing many to take cover as the city came under heavy fire.
Several types of infrastructure were damaged in the attack, including residential buildings, a gas station, a medical clinic, and other civilian structures. Emergency services responded swiftly, but the scale of the impact was devastating.
Among those who lost their lives were a 68-year-old woman and a 22-year-old police officer. Ten of the wounded required hospitalization due to the severity of their injuries.
This latest wave of violence serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing threat facing Ukraine’s cities and civilians, as well as the high human cost of every night spent under the shadow of war.
