Yes, that’s really his name! It may sound amusing, but it suits him perfectly. Kraken is small but incredibly stubborn and feisty – that’s part of his charm. He’s an older dog, and his eyes tell the story of a life filled with hardship and survival.

We don’t know much about Kraken’s past, but we do know it wasn’t easy. A small dog living on the streets faces constant struggles – perhaps he was bullied by other dogs, or maybe people mistreated him. His fear has turned into aggression, a defense mechanism shaped by a world that hasn’t been kind to him.

Kraken’s life nearly ended when he was hit by a car. He was on the brink of death, but our team found him just in time, gave him medical care, and helped him recover. Though he remains cautious and distant, deep down, we can see that he wants to be understood and loved.

Today, Kraken lives in our shelter, in his very own little house – yes, he has his own home! One of our volunteers gifted him a cozy little house, which now sits inside our shelter as his safe space. Here, he can rest, feel secure, and watch the world go by.

Unfortunately, because of his fear and dog aggression, Kraken has little chance of finding a forever family. But we refuse to give up on him. Even if he spends the rest of his life with us, we want to make sure it’s filled with care and comfort.

That’s why Kraken needs a sponsor – someone who can help us provide him with food, medical care, and a warm, safe place to call home. And maybe, someone who will be his distant friend, even if he’s not the kind of dog who will curl up in your lap.
