Keiko’s story is one of resilience and second chances, rescued from the brink of death by our dedicated Pavlo, the guardian of our Zhytomyr kennel house. Two days before facing an untimely demise, Keiko wandered into a village seeking help and refuge. Instead, he encountered cruelty from a woman who, without cause, beat him with a stick and sought his removal. Shockingly, she enlisted a man, driven by the lure of a bottle of vodka, to carry out the gruesome act of animal cruelty. 😢💔

Miraculously, Pavlo and his wife caught wind of this heartbreaking situation just in time. Racing against the clock, they intervened, snatching Keiko from the clutches of death. Upon their arrival, they found the killer man prepared with a bag and a metal rod, intent on ending Keiko’s life. Pavlo’s timely intervention saved Keiko, allowing him a chance at a new beginning.

Several months ago, Katya and compassionate volunteers from Denmark embarked on a mission to bring Pavlo’s dogs, including Keiko, to our Kyiv house. Now, under our care, these resilient souls are thriving, and Keiko is a living testament to the impact of compassion and kindness. 🙌💕
